Chapter 23-
It began to rain so all the people at the party werer getting all the stuff; Sweetie Pie Thomas got the dog pictures, Opal got the sandwiches, The preacher got the Dump Punch, Otis got his guitar and his pickles, and Amanda was helping Miss. Franny in the house, because Amanda didn't want her to fall.
Opal was thinking about the party, and forgot about hoding onto Winn-Dixie so he wouldn't be able to run away. Opal thoght that Winn-Dixie ran away, so The preacher and Opal went searching for him.
Chapter 24-
Opal and the preacher looked every where for Winn-Dixie, but after a while the preacher was giving up on looking for Winn-Dixie. They went down Highway 50, and " Do you think that Winn-Dixie might have gotten ran over?" asked Opal, to the preacher. She thought of ten things about Winn-Dixie if she didn't find him at all. She said to herself those ten things over and over again until she memerized them. So she had somethings to remind her of him.
Chapter 25-
When Opal and the preacher were a couple blocks away they heard singing and music playing. " I wonder whats going on?" said the preacher. After they told them that they couldn't find Winn-Dixie; Gloria said that Winn-Dixie was in the house under her chair asleep. They found him, because Gloria heard something snoring.
